ABP melting furnaces work very efficiently. However, there are many ways to change the efficiency both positively and negatively. The most important influencing variables for furnace and ladle operation will be presented in this training.

• Basics: Lids, slagging, start-up, melting sequence
• Coil grouting
• Furnace lining Design possibilities, lining quality, sintering, production sequence
• Charging: Packing density, edge length, batch composition, filling level
• Temperature control: Limits, monitoring, control
• Maintenance/control: Head screws, hoses, water, fault tracking, fault analysis
